2 Samuel 23:03-04

The God of Israel spoke. The Rock of Israel said to me: ‘The one who rules righteously, who rules in the fear of God, is like the light of morning at sunrise, like a morning without clouds, like the gleaming of the sun on new grass after rain.’

Biblical Truth: Do not be blinded by the darkness in the world, but desire the light that rises over darkness. Christ is the light of the world that is worthy of our worship.

God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. For who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid rock?

Biblical Truth: God is the foundation we rely on to confront our fears. Our saving strength is in Him because He is infinitely perfect.

Biblical Truth: When the darkness of fear blinds us from the truth we turn to the light of Christ to expose its lies.

2 Samuel 22:19-20

When I was in trouble, they attacked me, but the Lord protected me. He helped me out of danger; he saved me because he was pleased with me.

Biblical Truth: When fear and worry attack, we can be confident of Gods protection because He loves us. He is able to defeat the enemy of fear.

When I was in trouble I called out to the Lord. I called out to my God.  From his temple he heard my voice. My cry for help reached his ears. He saved me from my powerful enemies. He set me free from those who were too strong for me.

Biblical Truth: Take comfort in knowing that we can turn to the Father in prayer, for He is able to tear down the strongholds of fear and be our shield. He hears our prayers, we can depend on it.

My God is my rock. I can run to him for safety. He is my shield and my saving strength, my defender and my place of safety. The Lord saves me from those who want to harm me. I will call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I will be saved from my enemies.

Biblical Truth: When we relinquish control and rely on God we are strengthened and become more confident. With God as our protector we are able to rebuke fear.

2 Samuel 10:12

Be strong, and let us show ourselves courageous for the sake of our people and for the cities of our God; and may the LORD do what is good in His sight.”

Biblical Truth: Do not allow fear to discourage you into retreating, but seek the courage that comes from God so that you can march forward in faith and bring Him glory.

Don’t be afraid,” David said to him, “for I will surely show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan. I will restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table.”

Biblical Truth: Do not be afraid to approach those in a position of higher authority than you. In the same way encourage those that you may have authority over, as God encourages us to approach Him.

Biblical Truth: Do not put your faith in things of the past, but find strength in the blessings that you enjoy today and know that eternal blessings await you.
